Second Anniversary
Carlson Structural Engineering is proud to announce our second anniversary!  We are so grateful to our numerous clients in the Mid-Atlantic region who have continued to trust in us to help them solve building-related problems on such a wide variety of projects.  Our second year would not have been possible without their support and referrals to so many of their industry associates.
Carlson Structural Engineering is proud to announce our first anniversary! Our first year has been an exciting and busy time with amazing results
“Structural engineers always over design things.” I have heard this phrase so many times in my career, primarily from contractors and sometimes clients.  Usually, it is when they are looking at a large beam or a thick piece of steel. Structural engineers often get then reputation that they are too conservative and over design everything.
When a condominium is developed, it is initially owned by the Developer, but at some point, the units are sold, and the number of units owned by the Developer is fewer than those owned by individuals. So, the facility is transitioned from Developer control to Condominium Association control. This process can take months or even years.
There seems to be a fair amount of misunderstanding regarding what the purpose of these materials are and where they are found on a building. First, it is important to note that these materials are just part of a system that makes up a control layer on a building. Each control layer is intended to perform a certain function.
Today, July 12, marks the first day of operations for Carlson Structural Engineering, Inc, and the excitement is palpable. I am looking forward to continuing to do what I love and do best; helping clients solve their engineering related problems. This is what I have done for over 32 years and it has been so much fun that it never seemed like work.
